Overview

We are seeking an Acquisition Geophysicist to join Geophysical Imaging Department.
The Geophysical Imaging Department is an organisation that supports Saudi Aramco exploration and development programs through providing timely quality geophysical solutions focusing on subsurface images and quality of reservoirs and prospects. The department works in a solution-based model that integrates different geophysical disciplines like survey design, acquisition, time processing, depth imaging, near surface modelling, borehole geophysics, potential fields, rock physics and inversion. Such dynamic model works interactively with clients, interpreters, to support exploration and development programs business needs.
As an Acquisition Geophysicist, your primary roles are to evaluate and design seismic surveys, test and evaluate new technologies, and provide technical support to seismic crews. The candidate must have experience in seismic survey evaluation and data acquisition parameter design for 2D and 3D seismic surveys, seismic modelling for survey evaluation and design studies, broad band high productivity and high channel count seismic data acquisition methods using the latest recording systems, and simultaneous acquisition methods. Also, you should be able to plan and design multicomponent seismic surveys. The candidate must have a broad expertise and understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of seismic acquisition. You should act as a technical adviser to exploration and field development teams and assist in training less experience geophysicists through discussions and work sessions. Having good knowledge about non-seismic methods will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:
• Plan 2D, 3D, and multicomponent seismic acquisition surveys using seismic acquisition software.
• Perform advanced seismic modelling methods for seismic evaluation and design studies for different geophysical and geological objectives.
• Test and evaluate new seismic acquisition technologies.
• Seismic contracts evaluation and management.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will
• Hold a bachelor degree in Geophysics.
• A minimum of fifteen years of experience in the geophysical domain. At least five years of this experience must be in the field of onshore/offshore seismic data acquisition.
• The candidate must have strong and proven track record in seismic data acquisition.
• The candidate must be able to conduct and manage geophysical projects independently as well as working in a team.
• English language fluency with the capability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Excellent presentation skills.
