Overview

We are seeking a C4 Chain Business Specialist to join the Technology Support Division.

The C4 Chain Business Specialist will join the Technology Support Division which is responsible for guiding the various petrochemical projects through the pre-FEED and FEED stages of development.

 

The candidate primary role will be to supporting the development of the C4 chain manufacturing, operation readiness and risk management analysis. Additionally, the candidate will work with the Local Workforce Development Department, SABIC, external institutes and national training centers to identify appropriate mix of development, knowledge transfer, internal mobility and hiring strategies for units and products related to the C4 chain, for each one of the projects. Also, he will be responsible for developing the C4 chain operating philosophies and strategies, supporting the development of commissioning and startup schedules.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

 

 

  • Assess C4 chain readiness across all LTC projects.
  • Oversee the manpower staffing strategy and development for the projects in general and in specific about the C4 and butadiene units
  • Monitor Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, performance and establish control and establish Internal Assessment Procedures for the programs
  • Indicate process Interactions at the Refinery/Chemical Plants Interface
  • Work with national training centers to develop and train Saudis to prepare a highly motivated workforce for the LTC program
  • Support the selection of products from the C4 chain for production in each project, in order to maximize utilization of streams and profits.
  • Support commissioning and start up, commissioning readiness, maintenance activities
  • Identify stream integration and optimization opportunities between assets related to the project under development and in general for LTC projects

Minimum Requirements

  • As the successful candidate you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least twenty years of experience in C4 chain industries (butadiene extraction, MTBE, PIB, SBR, PBR, etc.), including at least five years in C4 chain technical support.
  • The candidate should have a thorough understanding of plant operations, process technologies, business drivers, cost drivers, and feedstock sensitivities.
  • They should also have a working knowledge of chemicals markets and dynamics. In addition, they should have a detailed understanding of product properties, customer applications and requirements.
