Overview
We are seeking a Contracts Advisor to join our Technology Oversight & Coordination Business Support Division (TOCBSD).
TOCBSD are responsible for providing centralized, high-quality shared services to Aramco’s Technology & Innovation sectors, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with strategic objectives.
Your primary role is to support contracting activities across corporate and affiliate contracting organizations. This role involves the review and development of scopes of work, preparation and administration of contractual agreements with strategic partners including industry leaders, academic institutions, and service providers and ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Serve as a technical expert and advisor to contract proponents, ensuring appropriate selection of contracting strategies and contract formation decisions aligned with business objectives.
- Provide leadership in the full lifecycle management of contracts, including procurement, negotiation, administration, and closeout.
- Review, assess, and support revisions to Scopes of Work to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment with project goals.
- Contribute to the development and review of contracting strategies and plans to support project execution and compliance.
- Facilitate market engagement initiatives, including the design and implementation of market surveys to identify qualified and competitive suppliers.
- Prepare and review internal cost estimates and budget documentation to support procurement decision-making.
- Draft, review, and revise legal terms and conditions in contracts to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with corporate standards.
- Participate in negotiation teams to engage with third parties, including strategic partners, vendors, and service providers.
- Prepare and present contract award recommendations to senior leadership, supported by comprehensive evaluations and risk assessments.
- Develop and propose recommendations for improvements to contracting policies, procedures, and best practices based on lessons learned and industry trends.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and capability development by mentoring, coaching, and transferring knowledge to junior team members.
Minimum Requirements
- You will hold a Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced qualifications such as an MBA or Master of Laws (LL.M.) are preferred.
- You must have minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in corporate contracting, procurement, or contract law, ideally within a technology, R&D, or innovation-driven environment.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., MCIPS, FCIPS) is required.
- You will be able to demonstrate ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
- Strong sense of accountability, initiative, and results orientation, with a proven track record of delivering complex contracting initiatives on time and within scope is also necessary.
- You will also have exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
