Overview

We are seeking a Contracts Advisor to join WRM Capital Program Management Division.

WRM Capital Program Management Division is responsible for providing WRM Capital Planning and Project Control, Project Engineering Support, and Major Projects Execution with commitment to secure quality, schedule, cost and safety.

Your primary role is to ensure that contracts are effectively managed to support successful project execution in the delivery of greenfield or brownfield projects within a refinery or NGL facility.
As a Contract Advisor, you will be responsible as a Contract Proponent representative ensuring that all contractual, compliance, cost, risk, and performance objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

•    Lead and facilitate contract strategy development and workshops to secure organizational alignment for greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Saudi Aramco standards and Procurement manual.
•    Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK), Lump Sum Procure and Build (LSPB), EPC, EPCM, and service agreements.
•    Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco contracting policies, procedures, safety requirements, and legal requirements, including internal controls and governance standards.
•    Manage contractor performance throughout the contract lifecycle, including scope, cost, schedule, and quality, to ensure delivery against agreed milestones and service levels.
•    Interface with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Risk Management to ensure contractual alignment and risk mitigation.
•    Support procurement activities, including Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation, bidder qualification, bid evaluation, and selection process.
•    Lead and participate in contract risk assessments, including liability, indemnification, insurance, and claims management, including Legal advice and expertise in legal matters and claims. 
•    Provide expert contractual advice during project execution, including change management, variations, dispute resolution, and claims.
•    Lead contract close-out activities, including final account settlement, performance evaluation, and lessons learned documentation.
•    Maintain and update contract management systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into enterprise tools such as EPM, SAP, or other ERP systems.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will have a: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or related to Contract Management from a recognized and approved program. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPCM, CCE, PMP, or legal license) is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in contract management, commercial advisory, or legal support roles within the oil and gas, energy, or petrochemical industry, with at least 5+ years in capital project environments.
  • Extensive experience across all phases of the contracting lifecycle, including solicitation, award, execution, administration, and close-out.
  • Solid experience in managing and negotiating EPC, EPCM, LSTK, and service contracts, with a strong understanding of commercial and legal implications.
  • Deep understanding of contract types and structures, with the ability to tailor terms to project specific risks and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of international contracting standards, local legal, regulatory frameworks, and Saudi Aramco contracting procedures is preferred.
  • Experience in risk management, claims analysis, and dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Proficient in using contract management systems, ERP tools (SAP), and project management software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex and high-pressure environments.
