Overview

We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join the Safaniyah Technical Support Division (STSD), under Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD).

NATSD provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations (NAOO) with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines to maximize profitability and meet highest standards of safety and environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Execute complex functions with a variety of software and systems, including industrial machines and protocols, building custom hardware and applying machine learning, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems.

Develop next-gen Industrial Control System platforms and automation solutions.

Develop customized communications protocols, PLC optimization, fieldbus architecture design, diagnostics development and mechatronic equipment design. Work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test.

Design and develop solutions involving robotics, data management and precision conveyance. PLC programming experience is desirable.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer Science/Engineering or other advanced professional engineering degree in related field.

Should have a Minimum of 15 years of professional engineering experience effectively performing similar roles and responsibilities, preferably in oil and gas industry or similar process industry. Experience is clearly recognized as being capable of solving technical problems of Process & Control Systems engineering in oil and gas operation.

Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes, standards and specifications. Have strong analytical abilities and project management skills. 

Should have Knowledge of the latest developments in oil and gas process engineering technology through work experience, conferences, seminars and professional journals.
