Overview
We are seeking a Digital & IT Strategy Consultant to join the Strategy and Investment Department.
The Strategy and Investment Department is responsible for designing, governing, and evolving Saudi Aramco’s digital and IT strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives while optimizing investments and partnerships.
Your primary role is to act as an IT strategic advisor, identify opportunities to enhance digital/IT capabilities through targeted investments, innovative partnership models, and adaptive operating frameworks that drive operational excellence and competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:
- Develop and refine Saudi Aramco’s Digital & IT strategy, aligning long-term priorities (e.g., operating model transformation, sustainability, operational resilience, innovation) with emerging technologies (e.g., AI, cloud, cybersecurity, quantum) and industry benchmarks.
- Provide strategic advisory to senior leadership by translating market trends, competitor activities, and technological disruptions into actionable insights to shape priorities and capabilities.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis for digital/IT investments (e.g., cloud migration, automation programs), evaluating risks, costs, and revenue impacts to inform decision-making.
- Design execution frameworks for strategic initiatives, by ensuring alignment between technical delivery teams and business goals, and monitoring progress through KPIs and milestone reviews.
- Conduct market intelligence and scenario planning, including competitor analysis, technology adoption curves, and regulatory shifts, to identify risks, opportunities, and innovation pathways.
- Collaborate with technical teams to translate strategic priorities into implementation roadmaps, resolve execution bottlenecks and ensure cross-functional alignment.
- Benchmark global best practices in digital/IT strategy and execution and adapt frameworks to Saudi Aramco’s operational context and regulatory environment.
- Lead capability assessments to evaluate gaps in current digital/IT capabilities and recommend targeted improvements (e.g., skill development, technology adoption, process optimization).
Minimum Requirements
- As a successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Digital & Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Communication Engineering or Software Engineering.
- You will have a Master’s degree in Digital & Information Technology, Engineering related fields, or Business Administration. PhD is preferred.
- You will have 15+ years of experience in Digital/IT domain and strategic advisory role, market intelligence, and technology roadmap implementation in large, complex organizations (preferably energy, industrial, or global sectors).
- You will have a deep technical expertise in at least one of the following Digital and IT domains: Data & AI (e.g. machine learning, data infrastructure), Telecom (e.g. network design, protocols), Computing (e.g. cloud/edge systems, HPC) and ERP (e.g. enterprise systems, integrations).
- You will have a proven track record of advising executive leadership on technology-driven strategy, designing execution frameworks for strategic initiatives, and leading market intelligence programs to inform decision-making.
- You will have the ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, balancing innovation with operational feasibility and financial rigor.
- You will be able to demonstrate experience in strategic planning frameworks (e.g., SWOT, scenario planning), market intelligence methodologies (e.g., competitor analysis, technology forecasting), and execution governance (e.g., milestone tracking, cross-functional alignment), financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Power BI), and investment governance standards (e.g., ROI analysis, NPV calculations).
