Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the team at Producing Engineering Division of Gas Storage & Compression Department.
The Producing Engineering is responsible for providing specialized support and advisory to the plant operations in the area of engineering, project management and inspection in order to maximize the value whilst maintaining safety, reliability and environmental sustainability outcomes.
The primary role of the Electrical Engineer as part of the Specialty Engineering Unit is to provide both tactical and strategic support to the plant-wide electrical distribution system to ensure electrical systems and equipment are operated and managed safely while power supply availability and reliability remain at the highest level.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
- Design or study electrical modifications to oil & gas facilities, residences and utilities.
- Design electrical aspects of new facilities of the type mentioned above.
- Share Electrical Engineering knowledge, experience, and train young engineers.
- Plan, monitor and improve Energy Management and Efficiency Programs.
- Develop the department Power Reliability Programs to monitor the performance and reliability of electrical systems.
- Review Engineering design packages related to Electrical aspects and appropriate material selection and cost minimization.
- Issue design engineering packages for anode monitoring and Cathodic Protection (CP) systems.
- Conduct electrical surveys, assessments and audits to the department assets related to DC battery systems, CP systems and Solar Systems.
- Develop continuous improvements solutions for electrical challenges.
Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor degree in Electrical or Power Engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree such as a master degree in an electrical engineering discipline will be advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 14 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
- Must hold a valid driving license and should be medically fit for long distances driving.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, in English.
- Ability to develop design packages and conduct studies for electrical systems.
- Must have full knowledge of international standards and best practices such as NEC and IEEE.
- Recommended to have IEEE membership.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in electrical engineering projects, design, maintenance, assessments, studies, investigations, analysis, optimization, troubleshooting, detailed reports and technical evaluations.
- Must have detailed knowledge and background in power overhead lines, transformers, generators, solar power, battery chargers, battery banks, Cathodic protection, heat traces, pumps, motors, air blowers, power distribution, buildings electrical systems, power metering, electrical cables, electrical material selection criteria, electrical systems sizing and power optimization solutions.
