Overview

We are seeking an energy specialist to join the Domestic Analysis Department within Strategy & Market Analysis. Domestic Analysis Department provides consultations on strategic planning to executive management and various company organizations related to the Kingdom’s short- and long-term energy outlook. As such, the department keeps itself abreast with policy and regulations developments, emerging energy trends, and various challenges and evaluates their impact on the energy outlook.
The outcomes of these analyses are employed to forecast the domestic oil, gas, and refined products demand for Saudi Arabia. As the sole provider of oil and gas to the Kingdom, the outlook is important to the Company and is used to develop its long-term plans on meeting the domestic energy demand in a timely and cost-effective manner.  
Your primary role as an energy specialist will be to analyze the Kingdom’s energy demand in major energy sectors, deeply understand the regulatory forces, policies, and issues surrounding the energy sector, domestically and globally, and their potential impact on the Kingdom and Saudi Aramco. With extensive experience in energy policy, you will be required to apply economic and socio-political analysis to regulatory policies and analyze their impact on various domestic energy sectors. 
 

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:
Identify, collect, organize, and analyze energy data from various domestic sources
Develop robust short, medium, and long-term energy outlooks for Saudi Arabia as well as scenarios of relevance. 
Understand existing and future policies and regulations and evaluate their impact on the Kingdom’s energy outlook and implications to Saudi Aramco.
Competently use energy/economic models and other statistical tools for scenario development, technology and policy assessments, and various research work. 
Stay current on relevant issues and trends within the energy sector.
Review policy drafts and propose suggestions to improve the effects of existing policies.
Participate in developing strategic plans by collaborating with various departments in the Company.
Conduct studies on the impact of Saudi Aramco actions in energy intensive sectors in Saudi Arabia, in order to understand the impact of Company plans on the Kingdom’s energy consumption. 
Present the analysis to corporate management. 
Provide periodic internal publications on developments in key energy sectors in Saudi Arabia 
Participate in the training, development, and mentoring of junior staff.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will have the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, or Environmental Science or related specialty from a leading university
Master’s Degree in Energy Economics, Public or Energy Policy, or a related field.
10 years of experience of working in the field of energy and policy analysis.
Ability to work in multi-cultural and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to produce high quality reports, studies, and presentations.
Ability to deal effectively with other staff and with external stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
