We are seeking an Engineer to join South Area Well Completion Operations Planning & Support Division (SAWOP&SD) under the Southern Area Well Completion Operations Department (SAWCOD).

Successful candidate will be assigned as Operations Technical Advisor reporting directly to the SAWCOD Manager. SAWCOD operations include critical High-Pressure stimulations, well interventions, in addition to high profile well testing and well services operations. In addition to operations that have been identified as an industry complex operation, e.g. well testing and well interventions on High and Ultra-High H2S wells. All these operations are currently being managed by SAWCOD and require well-completion technical assurance to secure safe and successful operations. An Operations Technical Advisor will be the technical resource of consultancy to the department management for all design, regulatory, and operational topics related to well completions operations.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to be able to perform the following:

Initiate and coordinates major petroleum engineering technical studies and activities, and determine engineering methods and procedures to be used

Prepare reports on completed studies with recommendations and presentations to Management for feedback and endorsement

Represent the organization in presentations to Executive Management in regard to new projects, new technologies or field development strategies

Initiate proposals for projects to be conducted by service providers (vendors) and acts as a project’s liaison. In addition, follow up on the projects# progression and ensures deliverables and objectives are fully met

Oversee the development of annual/quarterly/monthly/weekly management reports

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate should

Hold a Bachelor degree in engineering, preferably petroleum engineering, or a closely related discipline. 

Have a minimum of 10 years operational experience in oil and gas fields. Must have intensive experience in well intervention operations including coiled tubing, e-line and slickline services and related pressure well control Equipment. It is advantageous to have intensive experience in fracturing and stimulation treatments as well as surface well testing. Must have a thorough knowledge of all well completion/services and operations hazards involved and safety precautions.
