Overview
We are seeking a Field Compliance Coordinator for out SASREF+ EC Projects Department.
SASREF+ EC Projects Department is one of the organizations to place 1.6 MMBD of Liquids to Chemicals, seeking the best option to deliver Liquid-to-Chemicals (LTC) barrels, convert lower value residue streams produced at refineries into more valuable products and convert ethane to petrochemicals.
As a Field Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with Oil & Gas (HSE) standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Provide advice and consultation to department staff to assist them in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental/safety regulations, standards and practices.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace. Undertake surveys to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions.
- Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counsel concerning compliance with corporate safety regulation and procedures.
- Perform construction site and/or area safety inspections of department facilities and operations.
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures, and prepare written reports and recommendations.
- Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analyses.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place incidents and injuries.
- Prepare safety orientations, safety training and job site inspection procedures.
- Direct or assist in the development of specialized education and training materials.
- Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information. Assist local management in new employee occupational health, safety and environmental orientation.
- Participate in Safe Operations Committee meetings.
- Review and analyze injury, property damage, and statistical loss data and work with management to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
- Assist management with monitoring adherence to department safety and environmental programs by employees and contractors.
Education & Experience Requirements
As a successful candidate you will hold a:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or relevant major
- More than 10 years of experience in HSE management preferably within the oil and gas industry, including project management experience in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing HSE management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific HSE standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage HSE aspects of projects, including planning, monitoring, and ensuring the implementation of HSE best practices throughout all project phases.
- Understanding of HSE engineering principles, industry-specific hazards, emergency response planning, and environmental impact assessments within the oil and gas sector.
- Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices relevant to oil and gas operations.
- Ability to identify potential HSE risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure the implementation of effective control measures.
- Effective communication skills to engage with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, as well as the ability to provide HSE training and awareness programs.
- Experience in leading incident investigations, preparing HSE reports, and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Strongly recommended to have NEBOSH certification.
