Overview

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join the North Ghawar Gas Producing Department.

 

North Ghawar Gas Producing Department provides support for Gas Producing as well as Gas Compression Operations with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of Corrosion Management and Inspection disciplines to maximize profitability and meet the highest standards of safety and environment.

 

As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting gas producing and gas compression plants.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Design, develop, and optimize gas producing and gas compression plant processes to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations
  • Conduct process simulations, modeling, and analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimize plant performance
  • Develop and implement process improvements, including new technologies and equipment, to increase plant efficiency and reduce costs
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams
  • Lead the troubleshooting of poor performance equipment and high liquid received at the inlet area. Develop comprehensive engineering report to identify the root causes and provide remedial solutions. 
  • Develop detailed models of chemical processes including slug catcher, heat exchanger, three phase separators. Develop flow assurance studies using OLGA and similar software. Conduct sizing verification for control valves and pressure relief valves. Conduct sizing and duty verification for the heat exchanger using HTRI software. Conduct pipeline hydraulic sizing and verification for gas and liquid service to determine the optimal flow rate.  
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures
  • Leads the activities of project proposal that include development of scope, functions, interrelationship, integration, physical solution definition, cost estimate, etc. Leads project execution for project proposal, initiatives, studies and continuous improvement of solutions and problem solvers.
  • Formulates the basis for engineering studies in any of several basic or special engineering fields by analyzing and evaluating all relevant data. Evaluates data as to scope, effect on existing installations, economic value, and long-range planning and budgetary considerations.
  • Develops scope of work and description of technology items, and leads the implementation and operation of developed solutions in the field.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related from an accredited university. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on gas producing and gas compression systems
  • Strong knowledge of process design, simulation, and optimization techniques
  • Strong background in process engineering, with a focus on gas processing and compression systems
  • Experience with process modeling software, such as ASPEN, HYSYS, or equivalent
  • Experience with flow assurance software, such as OLGA, or equivalent
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including API, ASME, and OSHA
