Overview

We are seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join the Saudi Aramco Loss Prevention Organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within Saudi Aramco. 

 

LP is responsible for providing both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to Saudi Aramco operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all Saudi Aramco facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom.

 

Your primary role as a Process Safety Engineer is to work with the Saudi Aramco organizations on major capital projects and operating assets to meet LP vision of enabling excellence in safety and its mission to integrate safety in business and drive safety performance. You will also manage the interface between Saudi Aramco stakeholders and third-party contractors, to ensure delivery of safe and reliable safety services to achieve excellence in safety performance

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following: 

  • Provide ongoing risk assessment support to Saudi Aramco organizations to assist in ensuring safety in design on capital projects and safety of operational assets, including the execution and/or review of consequence analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRAs), Building Risk Assessment (BRA), High Integrity Protection System (HIPS) and other related safety studies.
  • Collaborate and liaise with Saudi Aramco organizations to review hazards and risks on capital projects and those associated with the expansion of existing operational assets.
  • Participate in safety studies and activities such as QRAs, BRA, HIPS, as well as in HAZID, HAZOP and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Develop technically accurate, concise, and timely reports identifying findings and recommendations of risk assessment studies.
  • Develop and review technical standards, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure projects and operational assets comply with Saudi Aramco policies and standards.
  • Delivering training in QRA, BRA, and HIPS to LPD Engineers
  • Act as a mentor to other loss prevention professionals.

Minimum Requirements

  • As a successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor degree in any engineering discipline,
  • You will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience process safety and risk assessment. This would include practical hands experience in consequences and risk assessment of pipelines, gas plants, Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs), bulk plants, refineries, offshore production and wellhead platforms, etc., as well as the delivery of high-quality technical reports, as a consultant or technical risk engineer.
  • You will have an excellent ability to communicate in English with peers as well as members of management, and be able to produce clear and concise reports in English.
