Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Simulation Twin & Optimization Engineer our Reliability Solutions Department (RSD).

 

RSD is responsible for providing engineering support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing and affiliates’ facilities (Refining, NGL Processing, and Petrochemicals). This includes reliability, inspection, corrosion management, static equipment, rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation and control support.

 

Your primary role is to provide expert guidance and support to de-bottleneck process operations and optimize processes through process simulation twin technologies. You will lead improvement initiatives for all operating departments within the Global Manufacturing Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Streamline Process Simulation Twin & Optimization objectives in alignment with corporate objectives and develop programs, processes, guidelines and best practices.
  • Monitor relevant KPIs to improve Process Simulation Twin and models performance and health.
  • Lead and develop Process Simulation models for the portfolio plants using dynamic or steady state (Equation oriented and sequential) simulation software applications.
  • Perform process simulations twin offline studies using specialized software tools to analyze plants’ processes and optimize their performance.
  • Develop and maintain thermodynamic models and mathematical equations that accurately represent the behavior of various processes.
  • Verify the accuracy of the simulation twin models by comparing the results with actual plant data and conducting sensitivity analyses.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and propose modifications or optimizations to increase efficiency, reduce costs, or meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct performance improvement feasibility studies to increase yields, and operational efficiency of the company.
  • Analyze chronic problems and debottleneck complex models to improve process operations and economic benefits.
  • Conduct safety assessments to evaluate the impact of potential process changes or plant modifications.
  • Lead technical sessions such as the design review, model review, and commissioning.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to operating facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams by consulting, providing awareness sessions, and participating and leading technical exchanges and conferences.

Minimum Requirements

  • You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • You will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Process Simulation, Modeling or Process Simulation Twin technologies. 20 years of experience is preferred.
  • You will be able to Demonstrate expertise in process engineering and flowsheet-based processes simulation.
  • You will have comprehensive understanding of refinery facilities, feedstock/product movements, margins, giveaways, process yields, and mass and energy balances.
  • You will be able to demonstrate familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control process modeling.
  • You will be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process solutions.
  • You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams.
