Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Materials Engineer to join our Oil & Gas Network Integrity team (OGNI) within our Research and Development Centre.

 

OGNI are responsible for focusing on rapid technology development aimed at providing solutions for integrity-related challenges, as well as decreasing the cost of corrosion and related activities including:  inspection, monitoring, and repairs.

 

Your primary role is to design new systems to meet project objectives related to the development, validation, and deployment of integrity solutions and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

 

  • Develop asset integrity solutions for the oil and gas industry including solutions for emerging energies and materials.
  • Track the deployment of developed technologies to identify opportunities for further deployments throughout our company.
  • Research and develop innovative smart repair solutions for asset integrity operations.
  • Align with business stakeholders in order to understand their goals and objectives.
  • File patents and present technical findings in published journal articles and at intra-company meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must hold a PhD Mechanical/Materials Engineering or related field, specializing in one of the following fields: asset integrity, welding, 3D printing, corrosion in oil and gas, structural integrity
  • You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in technological and/or industrial sectors, with substantial experience in developing solutions for asset integrity monitoring and modeling applications.
  • You should be skilled in computer programing like python or similar programing systems.
  • Familiarity with asset integrity monitoring systems and techniques like Ultrasonic Testing, guided wave, acoustic emission, x-ray is essential.
  • You must be able to demonstrate an understanding on corrosion mitigation control for internal and external corrosion, as well as the predominant corrosion mechanism in oil and gas industry.
  • An understanding on Fitness-For-Service applications and codes and well versed in structural integrity assessments is also required.
  • Deep understanding on emerging energies asset integrity concerns is preferred.
  • You must have a history of active participation in technology development and technical seminars, as well as a good publication record for PhD holders.
  • You should have a proven track record initiating, guiding, and conducting advanced technical projects and developments with an ability to connect technology, R&D, and operational excellence.
