Overview

We are seeking a Strategic Performance Advisor to join Corporate Strategy Department.

 

The Corporate Strategy department directly contributes to the Company's strategy development and update process through the application of best-practices in the fields of upstream, downstream, new energies and corporate strategy.

 

Your primary role will be responsible for translating the long-term strategic ambitions into measurable outcomes and provide independent, data-driven insight into the company’s execution of its strategy, monitor realization of strategic intent and facilitate strategy execution reviews and diagnostic assessments to identify and close strategic performance gaps.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following: 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Corporate Strategy organization and Corporate & Executive Management on strategic performance matters, providing objective analysis, data-driven insights, and recommendations.
  • Lead the development, deployment, and continuous enhancement of the company’s strategic performance management framework, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and long-term value creation objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive strategic performance analysis, including: historical and forward-looking performance trend analysis, impact of investment plans, organizational execution capability and readiness assessments.
  • Analyze business strategies and associated investment plans to develop strategic recommendations on business strategy options, choices, and overall corporate strategic direction. 
  • Partner with Business Lines and Corporate Function teams to validate performance metrics, tracking methodologies, reporting standards, and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate periodic enterprise-wide strategy execution reviews and diagnostic assessments, identifying strategic performance gaps, emerging risks, early warning signals, and areas requiring course correction.
  • Benchmark the company’s strategic performance and related processes, practices and technologies against leading peer companies. 
  • Develop and cultivate key matrix relationships in order to advance strategic performance initiatives that ensure that the Company is effectively and dynamically managing the execution of its strategies. 
  • Cultivate and maintains strong relationships with industry experts and external consultancies, to keep abreast of key developments in the strategic performance management space and other arenas that could impact the company’s competitive performance. 
  • Support the Secretariat to the Company’s Group Strategy Committee, ensuring effective documentation and follow-up on decisions and action items.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior professionals, fostering capability development and knowledge transfer.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will hold a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as Strategic Performance Advisor with at least 5 years in a similar function within a major energy company or consultancy house. 
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and validating corporate-level strategy execution and performance outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) frameworks, systems, and best practices. 
  • Strong project management, problem solving, and change management skills; must be comfortable leading and facilitating the implementation of new practices.
  • Proven ability to quickly build credibility and collaborative relationships across all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
  • Good understanding of oil & gas, chemicals, and broader energy market dynamics, including evolving technologies and strategic trends.
  • Exceptional English written and oral communication skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic is highly desirable.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring multinational teams.
