Overview

Aramco is seeking a senior lab scientist or engineer to join the Oil Upgrading & Lubes Team of the Fuel & Chemicals Division in SA R&DC, who will be responsible for:  initiating and leading projects of refining business interests’ activities including, R&D work, technology development, pilot plant activities, process scale-up, with special emphasis on hydroprocessing and upgrading

Duties and Responsibilities:

Continuous communication and networking with SA chemical and fuel business to investigate potential support to the business through initiating R&D projects to refine, upgrade, convert, and treat oils.

Conduct experimental design for the initiated projects with proper project activities planning, stage gating, funding, budgeting, resourcing. Utilize project management tools in setting work objectives, detailing experimental scope, and timely execution of the projects towards sound technical solutions.

Lead pilot plant campaigns, develop relevant DoE and experimental plan, mass balance calculations, process scale-up and conceptual design.

Develop new analytical methods for non-routine tests and assessments to meet business needs.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters/PhD degree in Chemical Engineering.

    At least 8 years of industrial experience in refining business with ability to demonstrate scientific/technical proven track record of achievements and capabilities in research and development as well as in technology scale up to demonstration and deployment stages. The applicant should show sound experience, hands-on skills, knowledge, and capabilities on refining processes chemistry, kinetics, fluid dynamics, and catalyst to conduct the research work effectively.
