Overview

Aramco is seeking a Technology Technical Writer to join the Technology Communications & Outreach team within Technology Strategy & Planning Department (TSPD). The Communication function is a key enabler in supporting both the Company and the Technology Business Line, to fulfill its mission of creating value for Aramco through enabling TOC to more effectively communicate with its vast stakeholders.  The function is responsible for developing and communicating technology messages across various channels (in digital, social and print) for the downstream and strategic research domains. 

The Technology Technical Writer’s primary role is to provide specialist knowledge and skills for the creation of content within the Technology Departments & Domains of the Company’s operations. You will need to analyze detailed and technical information, strategies, programs and technologies, provide accurate and impactful material, which can be disseminated across the entire business of the Company.  

Key Responsibilities

Prepares technology content on all the existing and upcoming research programs (heavy focus on Sustainable and Flagship critical business areas), and the technologies within them, for use in the Company’s Communications channels, the department’s reports and strategies, or for delivery by the Manager, Chief Technologist and other key personal throughout the TOC.

Formulates technical responses, in conjunction with the Communications function, in any necessary engagement with our external stakeholders, such as partners, analysts, consumers and general public.

Write and edit material for publication in the department’s annual, bi-annual, quarterly and monthly reports, committees, dialogues and forums.

Produces special articles that focus on the Technology or Research Science for Company periodicals such as the Aramco Life, the Arabian Sun. Dimensions online magazine, Journal of Technology and other necessary publications. 

Develop and prepare special reports and proposals for presentation by the Manager or Chief Technologists and for use at meetings with shareholder representatives.

Investigates, and seeks to implement new writing and content generation techniques and potential programs, for their possible application and use by TOC and its departments/research domains.

Advises and counsels management, division heads and other key personnel on how to generate strategic and impactful plans, programs, and operations, and is available to them as required.

Provide content generation, edit presentations, reports, weekly highlights, and other ad hoc requests. 

Proofread reports, abstracts, patents and other technical and scientific proofs in detail.

Ensure material is written and edited to follow the established Company style, management.

Produce high quality content for multiple communication channels and audiences (i.e. sustainable & flagship technology comms packages, presentations, publications, speeches, scripts, marketing, web, and social media platforms).  

Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s and TOC’s communications channels, needs, and the unique attributes of a research organization.

Communicate with scientists, engineers, division leaders, commercial experts, and management to become familiar with business strategies and research projects to ensure alignment within the department and administrative area, as well as towards Aramco’s business goals when communicating to various audiences and/or stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field from a recognized University. 

A proven background in more technical or industrial programs, which included written English language proficiency will be considered. 

10 Years’ experience in in public relations, journalism, press or related fields, with a substantial amount in global locations. 

Highest command of oral and written English; Arabic is highly desirable.

The knowledge of Company operations, policies, and problems and the ability to present the corporate image would be beneficial. However, previous experience in a similar organization, with proven content generation in technical fields will be considered. 

Have proven experience working in a technical writing position.

Proficiency in utilizing print and editing software.

Able to write in explanatory, technical and storytelling styles for multiple audiences.
