Overview

Experienced Downstream Corrosion Engineer to work within the Materials Consulting Services Department (MCSD). Candidate must have strong technical capabilities and extensive experience with corrosion and materials performance in Gas Processing, Refining, and/or Petrochemical industry. Candidates must have good communication skills and be comfortable working both independently and with cross-departmental teams. Candidate will provide support and technical evaluation to all existing operating facilities and new projects such as Liquid-to-Chemicals (LTC) and Joint Venture (JV) projects.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for operating facilities and new projects by reviewing design documents such as Corrosion Control Documents (CCD), Materials Selection Drawings (MSD), Corrosion Loops (CL) and corrosion prediction software output.

Act as the company’s subject matter expert (SME) and provide expert advice and assistance on matters pertaining to corrosion prediction, corrosion mitigation and monitoring, hydrotesting and equipment preservation.

Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving services and develop technically innovative engineering solutions with appropriate risk consideration.

Participate in the development and updates of Saudi Aramco’s engineering standards and design best practices to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity.

Evaluate and introduce best practice and emerging technologies to help the company achieve best in class positions in gas processing, refining and/or petrochemical sector.

Promote a learning environment and implement self-development to maintain and improve expert status in highly specialized technical and general engineering fields.

Actively participate in developing Saudi Arab engineers and promoting corrosion engineering knowledge.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields. An Master's Degree is preferred but is not required.

20 years of experience related to corrosion, materials, coating, inhibition, corrosion monitoring, inspection, corrosion management including at least 5 years as a corrosion engineer in gas processing, refining and/or petrochemical plants.

Hands-on experience with corrosion prediction software such as Honeywell Predict, ECE, OLI and similar.

Preferred to be certified by AMPP, API, or any equivalent recognized organizations.

Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and networking skills.

Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally.
