Overview

We are seeking a Career Development Specialist to join the Career Counseling Group (CCG) under the Career Development Division (CDD) of the Management & Professional Development Department (M&PDD). 

Management & Professional Development Department (MPDD) vision is to be a global leader in providing future-focused development following the mission of developing professionals and leaders to drive personal & corporate success. 

Career counseling services are conducted in strict confidence and adherence to the Company's policies and guidelines and the Kingdom's National Standards for Career Practitioners.

The Career Development Specialist’s primary role is to provide thought leadership and centralized support for career services across the organization. This includes training and developing career practitioners, conducting career guidance and career development workshops, and partnering with line organizations to localize career services delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will perform the following:

  • Provide confidential, multi-mode career counseling for graduates and experienced professionals in a wide range of contexts.
  • Develop effective relationships with company line organizations to grow knowledge and understanding of key business drivers, co-creating innovative career interventions to support the development of business goals.
  • Plan, design and facilitates career and talent development sessions, including self-awareness, opportunity-awareness, decision making, transitioning and career management skills, in-line with business needs. 
  • Proactively support employees, supervisors and mentors with creation and alignment of individual development plans with business needs, achieving synergies with corporate strategic goals. 
  • Liaise with HR Professionals and Admin Area Representatives to establish the needs of business lines and advise on development and competency related issues. 
  • Report on career counseling services, with a view to identifying further opportunities to align CDD service with individual aspirations and business needs. 
  • Maintain accurate and regular records of all career counseling activities and services for reporting and monitoring purposes, as and when required by senior management. 
  • Build experience through continuous research of industry channels for developments in learning and identify practices and technologies appropriate to the organization’s needs. 

Minimum requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have:

 

  • Master’s degree with courses in education, career guidance, counseling, human resources management or related fields.

 

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in training / personnel functions, including 3 to 5 years in career development related activities.
  •  Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of career resources, and the ability to motivate and inspire employees.
  • Wide experience in Career Development, Career Counseling or Coaching that includes the capability to carry out training needs analysis and demonstrate execution of development plans. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills that include the ability to consult, coach, counsel, present and lead meetings 
  • Experience in delivering & facilitating training to internal stakeholders 
  • Acquired experience through continuous research of industry channels for developments in learning and identify practices and technologies appropriate to the organization’s needs. 
  • Familiarity with career assessment tools and resources
