Overview
We are seeking a Gas Master Planning Specialist to join our Gas Operations Technical Support Division (GOTSD) under Gas Operations Technical Support & Planning Department (GOTS&PD)
GOTSD is responsible for the strategic growth and optimization of the gas business, integrating technical expertise, and digital and technologies innovation. ITMG also oversees the Master Gas Network planning, while optimizing the gas supply portfolio through advanced modeling and cost-benefit frameworks. It focuses on deploying cutting-edge technologies—such as AI, IoT, and digital twins to deliver high-impact solutions to shape the future of gas operations
Your Primary role is to help translating corporate strategies into comprehensive development plans, which typically span 10 to 20 years and are used to guide capital investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Assess existing facilities and infrastructure performance.
- Forecast future demand and supply scenarios, including shifts in market dynamics, population demographics, or regulatory changes.
- Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies and sustainability practices.
- Develop conceptual designs and scopes for new projects or upgrades.
- Work on facilities planning which often leads Business Master Plans and supports Facility Master Plans.
- Ensure that all relevant data and perspectives are integrated into the plan and aligned with priorities and resource allocation.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses.
- Compare alternative solutions to determine the most efficient and sustainable path forward.
- Present data-driven recommendations to support decision-making at critical milestones.
- Schedule regular updates (typically every 3–5 years depending on the plan type).
- Revise plans in response to major changes in assumptions, such as new market conditions, regulatory shifts, or technological advancements.
- Ensure the plans remain relevant and actionable over time.
Minimum requirements:
- As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical. An advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management is a plus.
- You will have minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry or energy sector, with a strong understanding of upstream operations.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) is preferred.
- You will have experience in developing or reviewing Master Plans for Gas industrial or infrastructure projects.
- You will be familiar with capital planning processes, feasibility studies, and economic modeling.
- You will have experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and interfacing with senior management and executive stakeholders.
- You must have a strategic thinking and long-term planning mindset as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
- You will have project management capabilities, including scheduling, resource coordination, and milestone tracking.
- You will have skills in planning and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Primavera, SAP, or other enterprise planning systems)
- You will be able to synthesize complex technical and commercial data into clear actionable plans is necessary.
- You will be able to successfully endorse and implement capital projects based on Master Plan recommendations.
