Job Purpose
Saudi Aramco is looking for a Minerals Processing technical advisor to work part of the technical team within Aramco Minerals organization under Upstream Business Line.
We are seeking a highly skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will participate in the `, improving existing systems, and implementing new technologies to enhance performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including geologists, metallurgists, and environmental specialists—to ensure that our processing operations meet the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to reduce capital budget, operational costs and increase recovery rates.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement efficient mineral processing techniques for different type of transition minerals & Optimize processes to improve recovery rates and reduce costs.
Conduct comprehensive metallurgical tests to analyze the properties and behavior of transition minerals under different conditions.
Evaluate and implement advanced technologies, including hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and bioleaching, to optimize mineral processing operations.
Conduct technical and economic assessments of mineral processing projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Provide expert input on feasibility studies, capital expenditure estimates, and return-on-investment analyses.
Stay well-informed of emerging trends, technologies, and practices in transition minerals processing to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Review the feasibility study of Minerals Processing facilities including lithium, graphite and nickel and validate key assumptions and technical methodologies. Identify gaps in the study and provide recommendation for improvements
Assess the viability of proposed processing technologies and their scalability for lithium, graphite and nickel.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in processing lithium, cobalt, graphite, nickel, or rare earth elements. Preferable to have project management experience with design and construction phases of minerals processing facility
- The ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and to communicate effectively and clearly with specialists in other cross-functional teams.
- Demonstration of technical contribution in Mineral industry through reputable international publications, technology patents and mentoring programs for young engineers.
- Strong understanding of mineralogy and metallurgical principles for transition minerals.
