Overview

We are seeking an Intellectual Property Attorney to join the Intellectual Property Law Department, within the Law Organization.

 

The attorneys within the Intellectual Property Law Department perform or direct the performance of legal activities within the department and assist the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and General Attorneys in providing world class legal services to Aramco and its partners and affiliates. You will report directly to the Trademarks, Copyrights, and General IP Practice Leader and will work closely with internal clients in support of the company’s various initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Managing outside counsel in the preparation and prosecution of trademark applications
  • Trademark portfolio management.
  • Counseling clients.
  • Providing IP education to clients on various IP-related topics.
  • Providing legal advice in the areas of trademark portfolio strategies. 
  • The opportunity to draft and negotiate trademark agreements and IP licenses.
     

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will have:

  • A Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent. 
  • Current admission to general practice before the highest court of the state or country of which you are a citizen or resident.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on trademark and copyright experience working for a law firm or as in-house counsel. This experience should include trademark clearance, registration, license and branding agreements, as well as trademark infringement. 
  • USPTO patent bar preferred but not required for this trademark position.
  • Pragmatic, business-oriented, approach to challenges and competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage business line leaders to drive implementation of new procedures and legal requirements in a timely manner.
  • Capable of international travel. 
  • Sound judgment and unwavering ethics.
