Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Materials Engineer/Specialist. The ideal candidate would have extensive knowledge and strong technical background in the manufacturing of advanced materials (e.g. Carbon Fiber, Carbon Fiber Composites, Graphite, Carbon Nanotubes, and Graphene), development of products and technologies based on these materials and their applications across several key sectors including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Automotive, and Building and Construction (B&C) . Candidates must have good communication skills and be comfortable working both independently with cross-departmental teams to disrupt the nonmetallic businesses and facilitate the global adoption of carbon materials

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation, review new advanced materials technology and introduce qualified products across several key sectors including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Automotive, and Building and Construction (B&C)
  • Support corporate carbon materials strategies, develop technology roadmaps, link participants in the innovation ecosystem and form new business partnerships 
  • Create new specifications and update existing standards, procedures and best practices
  • Perform technical assessment of new materials/products vendor facility, their qualification and approval
  • Lead or participate in specialized tasks, such as low-cost carbon fiber manufacturing technology development, selection of CF materials and related products across different sectors; support acquisition and venture capital, value engineering teams, organizational improvement teams, etc.
  • Support research and pilot projects to enhance carbon materials applications
  • Act as a professional mentor to developing specialists and young engineers
  • Demonstrate excellent technical writing and presentation skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering (Advanced Degree preferred) 
  • minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience as an engineer in the field of advanced materials, specifically in Carbon Fiber, Carbon Fiber Composites, Graphite, Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene
  • Excellent knowledge in manufacturing of advanced materials, development of products and technologies based on these materials and their applications, qualification and testing, consultation, operation, technical support and technology management. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and networking skills. 
  • Affiliation with professional societies is highly desirable such as ASME, API, ISO, NACE with In-depth knowledge in International Engineering Standards and Specifications.
