Job Purpose

We are seeking a Construction Engineer to join Wellsites Division of the Drilling and Workover Svcs Department. The Wellsites Division is responsible for coordinating and providing services for all onshore rigs, whether gas, oil, or water well locations, for all drilling activities. In addition, reconstruct all types of working locations. Moreover, the division's responsibility includes the construction and repair of thousands of kilometers of skid roads to connect these locations together and to the nearest asphalted roads. The number of ongoing projects managed by the Wellsites Division reaches 400 at the same time. The Construction Engineer's primary role is to provide engineering construction directions and control of one or more assigned projects within a division area of operations and is responsible for the preplanning, scheduling, execution, and closeout of these projects.
 

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes correspondence relating to project planning, critical path plan, project proposal, estimates, item lists, site plan, foundation plans, general arrangement of equipment specifications, and scope of work; collects data and information pertinent thereto; and follows the Aramco engineering standard.
  • Participate in the development of a detailed construction schedule or critical path plan based on complete drawings and delivery schedules, personally supervising the labor and the equipment.
  • Attend and participate in Drilling & workover rigs scheduling, HSE, and site kick off meetings with all Aramco organizations related to Wellsites construction activities. 
  • Coordinates and controls project construction by conducting continuous inspection of work progress on the site, checking for quality, workmanship, and conformance with plans and specifications; inspecting and reviewing the progress status; reviewing and analyzing time sheets, overtime reports, equipment usage reports, and similar actions essential to ensuring the construction schedule is met and that the work conforms to plan; and recommending and initiating corrective action.
  • Compiles or directs the compilation of various records pertaining to project activity, such as project pictures, monthly narrative status of construction, contractor performance reports, damage to material or equipment, accidents, and personal injuries.
  • Checks out the completion of construction; verifies that tests and inspections are complete; checks to see that final clean-up and removal of excess material have been performed; arranges an acceptance meeting and obtains the necessary signatures on the acceptance report; notes any exceptions; and takes corrective action on items within the scope of work or as required by code.
  • Apply necessary measures to project controls, safety, quality, and integrity. Ensure ready access to the project site for those who are involved in project construction and assist in obtaining work permits. Work as a job expeditor for better construction efficiency. Manage the project and close it out.
  • Performs other similar or related functions as required.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
  • Professional certificates are preferred, such as Leadership courses, and it is preferred to have a PMP certificate to handle the division projects.
  • a minimum of five years’ experience in Civil engineering, including at least two years’ in earthwork.
  • You must have a valid driving license.
  • Ability to work in the deep desert (Remote Area)
  • The ability to drive long distances is necessary.
  • Familiarity with surveying tools is also necessary.
  • Familiarity with Soil Mechanics (Geotechnical Engineering).
  • Having a background in using AutoCAD or MicroStation programs is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in both oral and written English.
